The law for safety at work of 12th December 1973,

safety and health protection and assures a competent consultation of
the employers. The main tasks are
- assure the implementation of occupational safety and
accident control regulations according to the conditions in companies,
- realisation of medical and safety expertise to
improve occupational safety and accident control and
- assure a preferably high effect of measurements for
occupational safety and accident control.

Regulates the allocation of work equipment by the employers, the use of

facilities subject to obligatory survey
- "state of the art" as uniform safety benchmark
- adequate protection measurements and tests
- minimum requirements for the condition of work
equipment, as long as they are not regulated by European guidlines

German business community and it's employees. The task is to prevent
occupational accidents, occupational diseases and health hazards.
Employees suffering from an occupational accident or disease are

the task to financially equate the aftermath of accidents and diseases.
In 2005 approx. 46.2 millions persons were insured. |

The law for the protection of juveniles at work limits the weekly labor
time to 40 hours max. in a 5-days-week. If the daily labor time is
reduced on serveral week days, it can be raised to 8.5 hours a day max.
The minimum age is 15 with exceptions for agriculture or paper
delivery. Generally, the labor time is limited between 6.00 a.m. and 12
p.m. with exceptions for bakeries, restaurants, cultural events etc. |

over 1,700 current valid (and approx. 750 withdrawn) guidelines. |
